The Story of Australia - History Projects tell the basic history of Australia, from the arrival of the ancient Aboriginal People, to Australian Federation.

The programs are also student project resources that encourage students to 'do' and 'make' history in a manner that resembles the historian's craft.

These two twenty-minute documentaries, tell the story of the Aboriginal People of Australia's Kimberly district, whose history with the land dates back over 50,000 years, to when man first settled on the Australian continent.

Australian Nation Builders

Centred around the lives and achievements of some remarkable people in Australian history. The characters are presented as "whole" human beings with strengths and weaknesses. Rather than a catalogue of facts the program aims to stimulate the student to develop concepts, interests, values, feelings and action patterns essential for modern society.

The twelve titles in this program have playing times of approx 22 minutes each, and were specifically designed to provide source material for Australian history studies.

Australia's Yesterdays



These 45 to 60 minute dramatised stories will introduce students to many of the people who helped mould the Australian nation.

As well as the famous names; Governor Philip, Governor Macquarie, Edward Hargreaves, Ned Kelly, Alfred Deakin and the like, the ordinary man of the day is depicted: the squatter, the gold digger, the convict, the bushranger and the lesser known founding fathers. Numerous traditional folk songs reinforce these stories.
